After Antonio Canova (Italian, 1757-1822) A 19th century half size replica of the Venus of Italica by Canova of 1810, in carved white marble, approx. 43"H on a circular base, approx. 12"D, set atop a hand painted marbleized fluted wood column base, approx. 19-1/2"H. The face of the original is said to be an idealized portrait of Princess Leopoldini von Esterhazy, later von Lichtenstein (1788-1846).

CONDITION
The sculpture appears in good condition. Endemic discoloration to the alabaster resulting in a orange hue. Minor chips to the front two corners of the base.
