ROMWEBER VIKING OAK GAME TABLE & CHAIR SETRomweber Viking Oak game table, having an X stretcher base, carved corner legs with drink holders and a single drawer; measures approximately 29-1/2" tall with a 35" square top. Apparently unmarked, however, stamped "4861" and "5-508 LY" to bottom. Set of four Romweber Viking Oak dining chairs boast carved horses on either stile, flanking a decorative carved back splat with mortise and tenon construction. The concave shield shaped seat rests on four squared legs which widen toward the bottom and are connected by front stretchers which form a V and attach to a square back straight stretcher; measure approximately 34" high, 17-3/4" wide with a seat depth of 13-1/2" and seat height of 17-3/4", each. Apparently unmarked, however, stamped "168" and "5808" to bottom. In overall Good condition with repairs needed.

Wilsons of this form have been dubbed the "Viking Rig" due to their distinctly high heads that look like Viking ships. The carving features incised raised wings.
Taken down to mostly original paint with moderate gunning wear neck cracks, one of which has been reset.
