Black Parkerized finish service-style walnut stock with coarsely checkered buttplate. Condition: Excellent condition with an excellent bore. This rifle is as nice as you will find with ca 99% original parkerized finish and an excellent stock.

This is a exceptional and collectible M1922.

SPRINGFIELD RIFLE-MUSKET 1863. Type I .58 caliber 40'' round barrel and darkly stained wood stock. Barrel is marked ''1863'' in front of tang and ''V ''over ''P'' just left of tang on barrel. Behind hammer on lock plate marked ''1863''. U.S. Springfield and eagle stamped in front of hammer. Eagle is also stamped on the breech plug. Stock has dings scratches and discoloration which is consistent with age. Bore shows light rust. Hammer lock and trigger mechanism are strong. Parts look original.

SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR RIFLE. Marked US Model 1878 on breech block 45-70 caliber 32-1/2'' round barrel long range rear sight walnut stock. S/n 247315. Clean bore rifling visible though weak strong action. Eagle and US Springfield on lockplate. V P Eagle head proof marks on barrel. Square cartouche on left side of stock. Dark grey-blue patina on barrel stock has some dings. Lettering is slightly faded though quite legible. A nice clean gun.

Patina is very dark some old dings and scratches. All appropriate cartouches and stamps are present. Eagle and US Springfield on lockplate are somewhat worn.

Parkerized finish nickel steel bolt with M2 marks on bolt body and handle and numbered with electric pencil to match serial number; walnut stock coarsely checkered buttplate. Condition: Excellent condition with an excellent bore. It retains ca 98% original parkerized finish with only light handling marks. The stock rates excellent and it would be hard to find a better example.

S/n 326636. Bore clean good rifling strong action. Dark plum patina on metal (missing at tip) inspection stamps on barrel. All numbers and stamps on metal are clear. Cartouche stamps are missing from stock. Heavy varnish.

V P over Eaglehead on barrel extra P and A also. US on buttplate U on barrel bands. US Springfield beside Eagle on lockplate. Rectagonal cartouche 1889 on left side of stock. Upper and lower sling swive additional stacking swivel. Very few dings deep blue colors very good condition. Two small screw holes at top of wrist. Possibly had a Vernier sight at one point.

V P and Eagle head left side of barrel very clear. Eagle and US Springfield and 1883 slightly worn. Leather sheath for bayonet stamped US. brass 'US'' on belt clip. Leather is dry but not brittle. A nice looking combination.
