Clark Potentate with a photo enlargement of the signature; Harry Truman signed photograph inscribed to Clark; Harry Truman TLS as President February 7 1948 on White House stationery and original envelope thanking Clark for an invitation to a Masonic banquet accompanied by photographs of Clark presenting the invitation to Truman in the Oval Office; a TLS by Richard Nixon as Vice President thanking Clark for a gift; a fine photograph of General Eisenhower General Bradley and Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery signed by all three; an Omar Bradley TLS thanking and praising Clark for his time as Executive Assistant Administrator of the Veterans Administration during which he was Bradley's immediate subordinate and served as Acting Administrator in his absences; two Omar Bradley signed photographs thanking Clark for his service; a General John Pershing signed photograph inscribed by Clark on verso as being signed July 12 1943 and noting that Clark commanded Pershing's escort of honor in Le Mans France and that they are members of the same Masonic chapter; signed photograph of President Herbert Hoover; and a signed photograph of Medal of Honor recipient Vice Admiral Joel Thompson Boone inscribed to and thanking Clark. Clark President Washington Chapter No. 3 1945; Masonic hat; Masonic Court of Honour beanie; series of 15 photographs of Clark in a 1948 Masonic parade and speaking at banquet at the Mayflower Hotel alongside General Omar Bradley; three photographs of Clark as Veteran's Administration National Legislative Director at the dedication of the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial; photo of Clark on the tarmac with General Bradley and others; photo of Clark and General Bradley at the 1947 Washington Senators opening day baseball game; photo of Clark and two others in the Oval Office inviting President Truman to a Masonic banquet; photo of Clark President Eisenhower and others at the 1954 Armed Forces Day dinner; Clarks's recognition certificate for four years as Assistant Director of the U.S. Veterans Bureau a photograph of Clark with movie star Harold Lloyd and others at a Masonic oyster roast; a fine engraving of Eisenhower signed by the artist Charles A. Brooks 1953; and other personal photographs and papers. Omer W. Clark spent nearly his entire life in military and public service. He was born near Blanchester Ohio in 1887 and served in the Ohio National Guard for five years following graduation from high school. When World War I broke out he enlisted in the 29th Division graduated from Officers Training Camp as a captain of infantry and served in the AEF as part of the 31st Division. After the war he got a job with the Federal Board for Vocational Education which was soon consolidated into the newly instituted Veterans Bureau where he served until his retirement in 1952 as Deputy Director of the Veterans Administration. Throughout his time in Washington Major Clark was active in fraternal organizations including the Military Order of the World Wars which he served as DC Chapter Commander in 1945-46 and National Commander in Chief 1953-54. Condition: All kept in very good condition. Signature on gavel has faded somewhat but is still legible.
