Each artist signed example with inlaid eyes is very finely carved and displays very nice patina.This collection is displayed in a small divided case with interesting labels and written information from Josephine Bird Hall, a lifelong collector of Asian and other antiques who lived in Kansas City, Missouri from 1888 to 1948.Sizes range from 0.75 x 1.25 x 1.5 to 1.5 x 1 x 0.75 inches.Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of damage or repair.Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.

Broken arch pediment and central plinth outlined in barber pole and crossbanded inlay, diamond inlay over line inlaid columns flanking the arched glazed door; moon phase dial over a chapter ring enameled with zodiac symbols, seconds dial with Freemasonry symbols, and an arched calendar aperture surrounded by scenes of planters, lovers and a dog by a swan-filled lake, and floral spandrels. Waist door and plinth base adorned with geometric string inlay, over a string inlaid base with French feet. 30-day brass works and bell. Dial stamped "Osborne's Manufactory Birmingham" on back. 90" H x 23" W x 11" D. English, early 19th century.

Condition:
Base and feet are likely replacements. Case overall good condition. Missing an entire section of mid-molding at base of door; 2" area of veneer loss just below area of missing molding. Also missing both side sections of mid molding at upper section of waist. 2" area of lost veneer to hood door and other scattered small areas of veneer and inlay loss and restoration. Several other small losses and abrasions to case. Dial with craquelure and scattered small flakes, particularly to seconds aperture, edges, and spandrels. Works not checked or guaranteed for functionality or originality. Key present.
