WESTLEY RICHARDS, JAMES PURDE...1st Item: Antique gun case with rosewood exterior, mortised brass corner reinforcements and screws, brass sliding latch mechanisms, and non-monogrammed brass medallion; interior reworked in new green felt with stabilized partitions, retains matching felt cloth and chromed gun oil jar stamped "Made in England" underneath. Exterior 32" L x 8 1/4" D x 3 1/2" H. Large interior compartment 17" L x 4 3/4" D. 2nd Item: Antique English gun case from James Purdey & Sons, having wood construction covered in waxed canvas with leather straps and edge reinforcements, brass slide release latch; original red felt interior with label reading "James Purdey & Sons, LTD., Gun & Rifle Makers, Audley House, South Audley Street, London"; accompanied by leather scope case (Note: case originally built for a Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1903 take-down rifle with 23" bbl). Exterior: 37 3/4" L x 10" D x 3 3/4" H; Large interior compartment 34". 3rd Item: Early 20th C. gun case from L. Westley Richards & Co., having wood construction covered in waxed canvas with leather straps, brass buckles and corner reinforcements, leather handle, and original slide latch locking mechanism. Interior rebuilt and relined in green felt with paper Westley Richards label intact; retains cleaning rod, Westley Richards emblazoned oil jar and cloth, and cleaning patches. Exterior with travel-worn patina, including a label remnant for the Hotel Homann of Bandoeng, Java. (Note: case originally housed a Westley Richards 318 Accelerated Express Model 1903 take-down rifle with 26" bbl). Exterior: 28 1/2" L x 9 1/4" D x 4" H; Large interior compartment 22" L.
Condition:
Rosewood: excellent condition with a few handling marks, no key present. Purdey: leather straps and buckles replaced, light handling marks, no key present. Westley: Good overall condition with expected wear; some leather replaced, painted number on exterior end; no key present.

VERNON WARD LANDSCAPE PRINTVernon Ward (British, 1905-1985) framed under glass print depicting a goose flying over a wetland. Frame measures 17-1/4” in height by 20” in width with the sight image measuring 10-1/4” in height by 13-3/4” in width. All measurements are approximate. Vernon Ward (British, 1905–1985) was a painter and commercial artist known for his depictions of flowers, birds, and Edwardian subjects. Born in Hampstead, London, Ward studied at the Slade School of Art under Henry Tonks, Philip Wilson Steer, and Sir Walter Westley Russell. A member of the New Society of Artists, he became an associate of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1926, and exhibited at the Royal Society and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. His work was particularly successful in the commercial industry, and was widely reproduced on jigsaw puzzles, greetings cards, and prints.

The carry case displays genuine leather construction with two internal compartments, and carry strap and handle. The internal compartments shows thick padding with a leather separating barrier. The top of the leather flap is marked with a stamp showing a seven point star with a globe at the center with a ring marked "BIANCHI GUN LEATHER" with the bottom of the case marked with the same star symbol and "HANDMADE GENUINE LEATHER". The side of the case is marked with "BIANCHI PAT. PEND.". The case was made to carry double barrel shotguns and shows good condition with some light wear due to handling. The case measures

WESTLEY RICHARDS CONNAUGHT 410 GA SHOTGUN CASEDFeatured in this lot we have a Westley Richards side by side Connaught shotgun chambered in 410 gauge with its Westley Richards carry case. This shotgun was manufactured by Westley Richards between 1974-1983 with its low serial number. This highest quality shotgun features a boxlock side by side ribbed barrels, engraved landscape scenes across the frames, and checkered hardwood stock. The ribbed barrels show wonderful blue'd finish with the ridge marked across the top reading "Westley Richards & Co. England". The frame displays highly detailed and intricate vine and floral etchings across the exterior with each side and bottom displaying hunting bird scenes. The left side of the shotgun frame displays two sandpiper birds flying over water with a scroll designs across the top of the scene reading "Westley Richards". The right shows a pair of doves or similar birds in flight with "Westley Richards" in a scroll across the top with the bottom of the frame displaying a quail in flight. The stock and front grip displays wonderful hardwood construction with checkered grips, etched steel accents and silver medallion with a checkered butt. The shotgun shows wonderful condition with a light rust patina on the right side of the frame due to storage. The piece comes with a fitted carry case, and cleaning tools. The Westley Richards case displays a wonderful canvas exterior with quality leather accents, leather straps, and carry handle with a bright brass lock system. The interior of the case features a maroon felt lining with sections to seat the shotgun halves as well as cleaning supplies, wood turned cleaning rod, and printed receipt. The case shows wonderful condition with little to no visible wear across the piece. This shotgun and carry case show wonderful condition and construction making it a wonderful addition to any collection. Serial Number: 2089. This is a modern firearm and requires a FFL transfer or NICS background check. Total length approx. 43 5/8". Barrel length 27".
