A NEOCLASSICAL REVIVAL OAK "WESTMINSTER CHIME ON EIGHT ...A NEOCLASSICAL REVIVAL OAK "WESTMINSTER CHIME ON EIGHT BELLS" CLOCK, LUND & BLOCKLEY, RETAILERS, LONDON, 1880-1900, the broken arch pediment over a recessed fluted and rosette motif frieze within block rosettes, over an arched clock face with three upper subdials, "Chime/Silent," "Slow/Fast," and "Westminster Chime on Eight Bells Chimes," within a leafy frond engravings, the enameled Roman numeral dial signed, "Lund & Blockley, 42 Pall Mall, To the Queen, London," flanked by pierced chime windows and engaged Corinthian order columns, raised on a breakfront cavetto stepped base. Height: 23" Width: 16" Depth: 11 1/2" Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
Condition:
Dust, a loss of molding at one side grille, some minor repairs, surface wear, not working, pendulum likely replaced, but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age. DARK OAK GOTHIC WESTMINSTER CHIME
DARK OAK GOTHIC WESTMINSTER CHIME CLOCK BY BIGELOW, KENNARD & CO. OF BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS, WITH MASONIC KNIGHTS TEMPLAR INSIGNIA American Quarter Sawn Oak Tall Clock in walnut finish, Gothic style, ca. 1900, with flat top bonnet having dentil molding, gothic tracery over glass door, open sides with cloth (missing but the lot includes replacement gold material), three train drive having graduated brass weights and nine nickel plated tubular bells. The silver dial had engraved roman numerals, seconds bit, surrounded by clouds, having the Cross of Lorraine at top, serving as a symbol of the Masonic Knights Templar, or more properly "The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta". The lower case bears a raised quatre-foil decoration. 95 1/2" tall (7'-11 1/2") x 24" x 16 3/4". Good condition.
