NANTUCKET WHALE IVORY, WHALEBONE, BALEEN AND WOOD SWIFT...Nantucket Whale Ivory, Whalebone, Baleen and Wood Swift, circa 1860, a double cage composed of 112 riveted bone ribs which open to a maximum of 26 inches in diameter, emanating from an ivory and ebony spacer standard. Finely carved ivory clenched fist adjustment thumb screw, mounted on a hinged dovetailed box with compartmental removable tray, and all lined with wallpaper.
