MICHAEL ZENO DIEMER MARITIME SHIP PAINTING Germany,1867-1939Depicts a grand sailing vessel rolling in the waves. Diemer studied at the Academy in Munich under Gabriel von Hackl and Alexander von Liezen-Mayer and traveled along the coast of southern Italy painting the Alps. In 1893, Diemer traveled to the United States where he showcased a diorama with Beatus Wieland for the World's Fair in Chicago.
