[PROVENANCE: Artist was commissioned by consignor's mother to design a ten-piece series for the family's Janssens Restaurant in New York City in 1959 and subsequently passed down to the consignor. Commission fee per piece was $500 in 1959.]

This naive depiction shows two well armed, engaged combatants. Image: 4 7/8" x 7". Good condition. These paintings were acquired from a descendant. There was an accompanying journal from the time describing Williams's activities and current events. It also makes mention of his later years as a gentleman farmer and his association with the Cadwalladers, a well known Revolutionary family.
