Winchester Model 1873 First Model
Winchester Model 1873 First Model Saddle Ring Carbine .44-40 cal. 20'' barrel S/N 14865. Blue finish walnut stocks; 1876 date of mfg. Condition: Very good condition with a fair bore. The bore is pitted throughout but still has good rifling. The metal finish has turned a dark brown patina and nearly all of the screws are ''buggered.'' The buttstock has a solid crack running through the middle and has some initials lightly carved in the left side. This is a nice example of an early '73 carbine.

Clean bore good rifling strong action. Good old plum patina with even wear. Stock has some dings. Lettering is clear just a little fraded on barrel. Has saddle ring on left side of frame. Sn. 91978A. Circa 1882.

Moderate-heavy wear from use but nothing appears refinished--original walnut finish with some dings mottled brown patina on the barrels brass frame with dings. There is no visible markings around the sight.

Walnut stocks, metal frame, octagonal barrel. Standard sights. Barrel length - 26". Overall length - 44 3/4". Serial number corresponds to year 1891. Condition:
Bore is dark. Metal overall is an even brown patina. Wood is good but numerous dings. Bottom of brass elevator has numerous dings obscuring, but not totally hiding, caliber marking. Four piece cleaning rod stored in butt. Action is excellent.

Octagon barrel measures approx. 20", overall 39 1/2". Rifle has age appropriate wear with some areas of discoloration and oxidation. Bore is fairly shiny with some areas of discoloration, rifling present. No cracks in stocks. See images for more details on condition. This item can be shipped in-house.

Winchester Third Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine .44 rimfire cal. 20" barrel S/N 46628 walnut stocks brass frame missing barrel band screw at forend Condition: Very good condition with a good but lightly pitted bore. The walnut stocks rate very good but the left side of the buttstock has the name "A Jones" carved in it. The barrel and mag tube have a dark brown patina finish while the brass frame shows evidence of an older cleaning.

WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 1873 LEVER-ACTION RIFLE. Second Model .44-40 caliber 28'' blued octagonal barrel set trigger checkered curly walnut stock. S/n 75737. Accompanying this rifle is a letter from the Winchester Arms Museum (dated 1985) indicating that this rifle was shipped from the warehouse on November 23 1881. Additionally there is a letter from Roan Auctions attesting to the fact that this rifle (which sold in their March 1985 auction) was from the estate of John Woods Rich of Woolrich Pennsylvania and that he was the original owner. Set trigger does work.

Winchester Model 1873 Rifle with Indian Tack Decorations .44-40 cal. 21" round barrel S/N 108481A. Walnut buttstock and forearm. Condition: Barrel has been shortened during its period of use. Animal hide strip was used to wrap the forearm. Brass decorates the buttstock and forearm. Rear barrel sight broke off and shows use. Barrel magazine tube and frame are a nice untouched patina. Stock and forearm?have been exposed to the elements. Tacks have nice patina with nice dark halos. Comes with an old tag where it was bought near Fort Smith Arkansas.

Winchester Rifle Model 1873 Sporting Rifle .44 cal. 24'' round barrel S/N 110393A Tang marked Model 1873. Half or button magazine tube. Walnut buttstock and forearm with four-piece cleaning rod in the butt. Blued finish with case colored lever and hammer; circa 1883. Factory letter states 26 octagonal barrel rifle plain trigger shipped 1-26-1883. The finish on the barrel and frame are original and evenly matched. Factory may have recorded it wrong. Condition: Barrel and frame are very strong retaining 90+% of the original vivid blue finish. Some wear to the high edges. Lever has most of the case colors loosing on the bottom of the lever. Hammer retains 90% of the colors some wear on the sides. Wood is excellent. A very nice sporting rifle.

Condition:
Stocks with old patina. Lower retainer is missing. Forearm has chips out on both sides where it joins fore-end cap. Evidence on butt and forearm where sling swivels were attached. Bore is worn. Action is sound but hammer is missing half cock.
