Barrel has thinning blue mixing with brown. Magazine tube is brown. Both have signs of light pitting. Wood is good but has 2" crack in the right side forearm just behind nose cap. Shotgun style butt. Action is good.

  WINCHESTER MODEL 53 LEVER ACTION RIFLE 25-20Winchester Model 53 lever action rifle in .25-20 WCF caliber. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial #9717 and the number "19" is on the left side, next to the trigger. There is a "WP" Winchester proof on the top rear of the barreld top of the chamber ring. Rifle has a mounted Lyman rear peep sight. Barrel measures approx. 22", overall 39 1/2". Age appropriate wear to the finish with oxidation and discoloration. Clean bore, no cracks in the stocks. Barrel top has two drilledholes in front of the rear sight.
