Note: A closely related chair is illustrated in Santore, T he Windsor Style in America , pg. 176. The chair offered here is closely related to those produced in the shop of James Beck in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Beck was in partnership with Alexander Walker until 1805, when he ventured out on his own. He advertised in the Fredericksburg paper, The Virginia Herald, as a Windsor chair and settee maker. Two related chairs by Beck are in the MESDA database files S-6066 and S-28396.
