LAWRENCE (British 1888-1935) "SEVEN PILLARS OF WISDOM a triumph," JONATHAN CAPE, LONDON, 1935, Alden Press, Oxford, England, first edition from general circulation printing, frontispiece portrait, photogravure illustrations, four folding maps, 672 pages, gilt lettered waxed cloth spine and boards, cut and uncut page edges. 10 1/4" x 8 1/8" Note: "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom a triumph," by T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) is an account of his personal experiences as a British liaison officer in the insurgent forces during the 1916-1918 Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire. It was finished in 1922 and first privately printed in 1926 (limited to 170 complete copies) followed by a publishing for general circulation in 1935.
Condition:
Good overall condition with slightly faded cloth cover, gilt letters are rubbed but still prominent, front board has creased top right corner and centers a rectangular shadow, light foxing on some pages but not all.
