W.A. Rogers (American, 1854-1931) Two original caricatures: "Mother's vision of WWI soldier's ghost", approx. 16" x 13-3/8" and overall framed 24-1/8" x 21-2/8". Second is "McAdoo tries to lasso Democratic Donkey being befuddled by Al Smith", approx. 16" x 13-3/8" and overall framed approx. 23-5/8" x 20-3/4". Both are india ink on paper, signed in the lower left corner; double matted under glass and framed.

I had no idea in the world that you had any business outside polo, But it was a relief to know there was one Polo man that at least retained some degree of business, Now that old insurance racket is a great thing. They all think there [sic] house is going to burn, but they are seldom ever lucky enough to have it happen…my wife has a nephew…(who) has worked in this same business out in the buckwheat belt, and those old babies are hard to talk out of a premium even if they see the blas [sic] headed toward the hay mound…", signed "Will Rogers" in brown ink, 11 x 8-3/8 in.; with two studio photographs of Rogers, each a print with his signature in image, 6-3/4 x 4-7/8 in. and 9-1/2 x 7-1/2 in.
