Two Hand Cut Paper Silhouettes Framed The first an oval hand cut silhouette of a woman wearing a bonnet in black paper mounted on cream color paper framed in a black rectangular frame with gilt metal inner rim convex glass grape ornament at the top with a ring to hang 5-3/4" x 5". The second an over silhouette of a lady cut out in cream paper with black paper behind in an oval wood frame under glass 5" x 4" overall. Sitter's name was inscribed on the back now obscured.

The man has creases pinpricks and a missing corner (cracked glass) the woman has stains.

A COLLECTION OF SIX 19TH CENTURY SILHOUETTES Last quarter 19th century, full length silhouettes, the first watercolor on bristol, depicting a young woman facing left, wearing a Victorian dress and bonnet and holding a book with gilt, with London supplier's stamp to upper left, verso pencil inscribed "Sept 4th, 1886" (14 1/4 x 12 in.). The remaining (5) are cut-out silhouettes with "bronzed" heightening, all uniformly framed with black matting, including (2) of "William Henry Mountain" dressed in formal attire, one depicting the sitter with top hat (14 3/4 x 10 5/8 in.), the other with hat in hand (10 3/4 x 15 3/4 in.); the next three are of women facing right and seated in chair, including "Mrs. Agnes Mountain" (14 1/2 x 12 1/2 in.), "Mrs. Margaret Morgan / Wife of John Morgan" (14 3/4 x 11 3/4 in.), and a "Juliana Dr. Kay B[unyan?]" (16 7/8 x 12 3/4 in.). Agnes silhouette with ink inscription regarding likeness to verso, otherwise all unsigned.
