  HUBLEY TAKE-APART WRECKER 1932 CAST IRONThis 5-1/2" long Tow Truck is a Hubley, but not marked. It does have a 1932 patent number for a Hubley toy vehicle. This is a take-apart vehicle; if you turn it over there is a long wire extending between the axles that can be slid to the side. The truck body is a separate cast piece and has a metal bar attached underneath which extends about 3/4 of the way across the truck bottom and slides under the wire which holds it in place. The body can be pulled past this point and falls off in your hand. The chassis and engine area is red; the tow truck body removeable part is dark blue. The tow hook is still in place. Paint is darkened and aged but mostly there. White tires are original, and as usual, are heavily cracked. Nice piece.
