The Wallace Estate: Lee Renfrew Wallace and her husband Mahlon Brookings Wallace III lived an extremely happy and luxurious life filled with world travels, safaris, collecting, and philanthropy. From backgrounds in race-horse breeding and championship cattle ranching, the socialite couple paid homage to the St. Louis area community in a variety of ways.
Mr. Wallace served as Director of Commerce Bank, President of the St. Louis Zoo Friends Board, and was charitable to numerous organizations he believed in. Behind every great man is a better woman, and his wife Lee was renowned for being the glue of the family while she warmly served as Director of Development for local educational institutions and made an impact with her lasting spirit. The couple’s art collection ranges in style and period and spans a broad price-point.

1914 RISQUE PHOTOGRAPH, JOSIE EARP?
1914 RISQUE PHOTOGRAPH, JOSIE EARP? KALOMAOriginal 8x10 (7-3/4" x 9-5/8") photo titled "Innocence," embossed "Copyright 1914 - P.N. CO." lower right. Back has stamp "Pastime Novelty Co., 1343 Broadway, New York." The subject is presumed to be "Kaloma," the model for the controversial risque portrait famously believed by many historians to depict Josephine Earp, the wife of Arizona gunslinger Wyatt Earp. (As many historians believe the picture not to show Mrs. Earp -- the disagreement has been raging for about three decades.) This photo is in fine condition, especially for its age. The back has some paper and glue remnant from its having been attached to a board or album page. shipping info This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. BUFFALO BILL'S WILD WEST SHOW

Lively performances showcasing equestrian skills with bow and arrows, attackson settlers, stagecoaches, pony express riders, and wagon trains, reenactments of the Battle of Little Bighorn, the Death of George Armstrong Custer, and the Wounded Knee Massacre led to this show averaging around 30,000 spectators per day while the Eiffel Tower averaged 12,000 visitors per day. Many of these performers went back to the United States to become silent film stars. Approx 4-1/4" L x 6-1/2" H. Overall wear consistent with age. See images for more details on condition.
