Boris Cenic (Yugoslavian,
Boris Cenic (Yugoslavian, 1921-?), abstract cityscape, oil on canvas; 19 1/2" x 23 1/2"; signed lower right. A painter in the French Impressionist tradition, Cenic was born in 1921 in the former Yugoslavia and came to Paris in 1948 as a refugee. His paintings have been exhibited in the U.S. as well as abroad.

1911 SILVER SERBIAN MEDAL MINES DE CUIVRE Ville de Bor - ??? Bor ? has existed since Roman times and has been taken over and captured and re-captured at least 8-9 times over the centuries. 1911 found Bor in Serbia during the reign of King Peter I (1904-1921) and was seen as Serbia?s Golden days due to increased freedom and democracy. Bor has a major copper mine which increased its importance. Serbian Cyrillic is not easy to translate but the knight could be their legendary warrior Milo? Obilic and the city of Bor in 1911.
