Princess Mary the 17 year old daughter of King George V and Queen Mary created a fund via donations from the public to send a Christmas gift to everyone in uniform. The boxes were filled with various gifts such as Cigarettes or Chocolates and issued to the soldiers sailors nurses and anyone in uniform.
